Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia has included project Fortress ReInvented, financed by the Programme within the 1st CfP, as an example of good practice of European Heritage Strategy for the 21st Century<\/a> implementation (Strategy 21). The focus of this year is aimed at the best practices and educational projects about cultural heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strategy 21 defines the place and role of cultural heritage in Europe and provides guidelines to promote good governance and participation in heritage identification and management, and disseminates innovative approaches for improving the environment and quality of life of European citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fortress ReInvented is pointed out as a positive example of using innovative techniques to present cultural heritage to the public, with special focus on St. Michael\u2019s Fortress in \u0160ibenik. Two underground water tanks at St. Michael’s Fortress, that date back to 15th century, were transformed into time machines. By using 3D mapping technology, the legend of the city’s origin is revived on their walls and turbulent history of the fortress is presented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Besides that, visitors of St. Michael’s Fortress will have the opportunity to take an individual tour with an audio-digital guide that activates automatically at 12 different points, presenting 12 crucial moments in the history of the Fortress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By this nomination, the project has been listed among the successful examples of implementation of modern culture management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
