Those interested in underwater archaeology and the preservation of cultural heritage have the opportunity to watch the documentary film “The Explorer: Museums in the Sea,” which was recently broadcast on the national public service, Radio Television of Montenegro (RTCG).

The film, edited by Snežana Radusinović, was produced with the support of the Institute for Interdisciplinary and Multidisciplinary Studies of the University of Montenegro and highlights the contribution of the Interreg project Wrecks4All.

The central theme of the documentary is the digitalization of underwater cultural heritage and the advancement of underwater cultural tourism, with a special focus on the legacy and achievements of the Interreg project Wrecks4All. Through stories about underwater sites, the film showcases the latest scientific efforts to preserve this heritage and make it accessible to the wider public.

The documentary was filmed during a training program on underwater archaeology and digitalization of underwater cultural heritage organized within the Wrecks4All 2.0 project. The training aimed to strengthen professional capacities in Montenegro and Albania. Key partners in the training included the Center for Archaeology, IIMS, University of Montenegro, the International Centre for Underwater Archaeology in Zadar (ICUA), a UNESCO Category 2 Centre, and the UNESCO UNITWIN Network for Underwater Archaeology.
