Operation purpose and expected achievements:
The project aims to advance circular and resource-efficient waste management practices in the Programme area by enhancing waste separation, recycling, and recovery processes. Local waste management systems will be improved through investments in advanced equipment, including underground, semi-underground and above-ground containers, recyclomats, and waste removal trucks. Project partners will implement a joint pilot action for improved separate waste collection, testing various methods in both urban and less populated communities. Additionally, the partnership will conduct a series of educational and public awareness activities in Zadar (HR), Bihać, Central Bosnia Canton (BA), Podgorica and Zeta (ME) to promote circular economy principles. As part of the project, a Circular Economy Digital Knowledge Platform will be developed to provide tools for better waste management practices and facilitate knowledge exchange among stakeholders.
Beneficiaries:
The Lead Partner (LP), Čistoća Ltd. Zadar (HR) coordinates the partnership and ensures that all project results are achieved on time. As part of the joint pilot action, the LP is responsible for installing 14 semi-underground and 15 above-ground containers in the City of Zadar, contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable environment.
Zadar County Development Agency ZADRA NOVA (HR), coordinates communication activities, ensuring a seamless flow of information both within the partnership and to the public. Key activities in this role include organizing project conferences, educational workshops, and ensuring overall project visibility. ZADRA NOVA will also lead the process of collaborative development of the Circular Economy Digital Knowledge Platform for efficient waste management.
Office for European Integration of Central Bosnia Canton – UEIR (BA) is responsible for procurement of 10 recycling machines (recyclomats) and 500 container sets for separate waste collection. The equipment will be installed in public spaces and in local households to promote circular economy principles and responsible waste disposal. PP3 will also conduct two educational workshops on resource efficiency aimed at the public sector.
As part of the joint pilot action, City of Bihać (BA), is responsible for procurement of 2 sets of underground containers for separate waste collection and 1 waste removal truck. PP4 will actively engage in organizing various promotional and educational activities to encourage public participation and foster a sense of environmental responsibility among residents.
Municipality of Zeta (ME) is responsible for procurement of 1500 sets of containers for separate waste collection and 1 waste removal truck. New equipment will improve waste management practices within the community and empower local households to effectively utilize separate waste collection methods.
Čistoća Podgorica Ltd. (ME) is bringing valuable knowledge and experience in the field of waste management and the challenges associated with these activities. PP6 will procure 1 waste removal truck, organize 2 educational workshops on resource efficiency and contribute to further promotion of advanced waste management practices in the project area.
