Operation purpose and expected achievements:
The project aims to improve basic conditions for implementing circular economy policies in the Municipality of Tuzi (ME), Municipality of Konavle (HR) and City of Mostar (BA) by investing in the required waste management equipment. Apart from that, it is planned to revitalize illegal landfills locations in the project area, including installation of video surveillance for prevention of creation of illegal landfills. Furthermore, it is foreseen to organize educational events for all relevant waste management stakeholders in the project area with the aim of raising their awareness and improving their knowledge in the field of circular economy. Also, a comprehensive media campaign is envisaged as well as activities aimed at raising awareness of high school children in the project area (lectures, quiz, artistic competition). Finally, it is planned to create a bulky waste management plan to be applied in the Municipality of Tuzi and the City of Mostar.
Beneficiaries:
The Lead Partner (LP), Municipality of Tuzi (ME), is responsible for procurement of specialized equipment for collection and separation of waste, cleaning of 3 illegal landfills and remediation greening and video surveillance on 5 locations for prevention of creation of illegal landfills, organisation of public campaign promoting the implementation of the circular economy through improved waste management, development of Solid Waste Management Plan 2025-2030 for Municipality of Tuzi and City of Mostar, and organisation of waste recycling education in a selected high school in Tuzi.
Municipality of Konavle (HR) is responsible for procurement of specialized equipment for collection and separation of waste, remediation and greening of 5 locations and setting up of video surveillance on 10 locations for prevention of creation of illegal landfills, organisation of practical training on circular economy for all relevant stakeholders, launching a media campaign aimed at promoting separation of waste, and organisation of waste recycling education in 2 high schools in Konavle.
City of Mostar (BA) is responsible for procurement of specialized equipment for collection and separation of waste, remediation and greening of 10 illegal landfills and setting up video surveillance for prevention of creation of illegal landfills on 20 locations, organisation of practical training on circular economy for all relevant stakeholders, launching a media campaign aimed at promoting separation of waste, and organisation of waste recycling education in 2 high schools in Mostar.
