Operation purpose and expected achievements:
The HEART project will address the problems of children with developmental disabilities, their parents and caregivers through multidisciplinary support from various professionals, such as healthcare providers, psychologists, speech therapists, physiotherapists, educators and social workers. Education of parents as well as coordination of specialists will be ensured, and the specialized equipment for centres for working with children with developmental difficulties and their families procured. Networking of experts and exchange of information, as well as the process of consultations will be enabled through the creation of a web platform. A special component of the project is the formation and equipping specialized mobile teams for field work in all three countries, which will ensure the necessary professional support to families in remote areas and those in unfavourable socioeconomic status.
Beneficiaries:
The Lead Partner (LP)- Vukovar-Srijem County Community Service Centre (HR) will contribute with its professional and infrastructural capacities in providing early intervention and psychosocial support services for children with developmental disabilities. Also, LP will create a web platform and prepare and provide expert materials for the web platform, and procure equipment for experts working with beneficiaries.
Public institution “Medical centre and the infirmary” Žepče (BiH) will create a joint educational programme for families and participate in providing expert materials for the web platform. Furthermore, PP2 is responsible for establishing of specialized mobile team for rural areas.
Development Agency Žepče (BiH) will manage, coordinate and guide implementation of activities on the territory of the Municipality of Žepče, as well as the transfer of know-how and best practices with other partners.
Vukovar-Srijem County Development Agency (HR) will be responsible for preparation of an action plan on early intervention, preparation of education programs for parents, promotional activities, and organization of education for professional staff. The final conference of the project will be also organized by PP4.
NGO “Association of Parents of Children with Developmental Disabilities – Podgorica” (ME) will contribute with its professional and infrastructural capacities in providing early intervention and psychosocial support services for children with developmental disabilities in Montenegro. Partner will be also responsible for establishing of specialized mobile team for rural areas.
