We are proud to present one more activity from the Before Time project that helps local communities to face one of many health issues. Our partners from Zavod za javno zdravstvo Zadar have started a public awareness campaign focused at cervical cancer prevention.
Cervical cancer is one of the most common types of cancer in younger women, but with proper education, testing, and vaccination – it can be almost entirely prevented. Infection with the human papillomavirus (HPV) affects most women at some point in their lives, but in most cases, the infection clears on its own. However, certain types of HPV can cause changes in cells which, if not detected early, can lead to cancer.
