Enhancing Cross-Border Waste Management through Sustainable Practices (CrossWaste)
Priority Axis 2: Green investments in environmental protection and efficient risk management
Operation start date: 15 June 2024
Operation completion date: 14 June 2026
Budget: EUR 841.445,40
Number of partners: 2
Operation purpose and expected achievements:
The project will enable the creation of basic preconditions for the implementation of circular economy policies by investing in the necessary infrastructure and equipment for the management of construction waste, which has the largest percentage share in waste. Through project activities, the project also addresses some of the acute problems in the management of construction waste in local areas, such as illegal landfills, lack of adequate recycling equipment, and lack of communication among all stakeholders in the waste management process. Through pilot actions and solutions that are planned, the project presents the use of recycled construction waste as a sustainable material for filling the local roads. This project solution contributes to the principles of sustainable development and environmental preservation within the project area.
Beneficiaries:
The Lead Partner (LP) EKO – DUNAV d.o.o. (HR), is responsible for educating the relevant stakeholders in the area (representatives of local and regional government units, small and medium-sized enterprises and public utility companies) about the need to introduce the principles of circular economy into everyday waste management policies. The LP coordinates day-to-day implementation of project activities to ensure effective project implementation.
Brod Municipality (BA) is responsible for pilot action to be implemented within local area and for awareness raising among stakeholders. PP2 is responsible for promotional and educational activities for the project target groups with the aim of raising their awareness of the benefits of integrating the principles of the circular economy into everyday life.
