As part of the Sport Facilities Green Energy – SINERGY project, an innovative software solution has been implemented, enabling sports centers in Tuzla (BiH), Vukovar (HR), and Herceg Novi (MNE) to monitor and analyze energy and water consumption in a completely new way. This digital platform, developed by Enkon d.o.o., represents a powerful tool for improving energy efficiency, reducing costs, and ensuring long-term sustainable management of public facilities.
Key Functionalities of the Software Solution
The software allows:
- Monthly entry of data on electricity, thermal energy, water consumption, and related costs;
- Monitoring of consumption and expenses on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis;
- Generation of graphs and tabular reports, including specific indicators per square meter or per user;
- Alarm systems for detecting sudden changes in consumption (e.g., malfunctions, increased usage);
- Reporting tailored to the timeframes and functional needs of facility management;
- User dashboards and interactive visualizations.
All these features enable sports facility managers to identify patterns, optimize consumption, and make informed decisions related to sustainability.
An Educational and Adaptive Tool for Wider Use
The software is designed as an educational tool that not only allows users to track consumption but also actively engages them in identifying problems and improving energy efficiency. Its user-friendly interface can be easily adapted for other types of public institutions – schools, municipal buildings, cultural centers – giving it the potential to be used far beyond sports facilities.
Online Training and Support
For implementation purposes, online presentations of the software were held for each sports center, with the participation of facility management, project team members, and data entry staff.
Additionally, in-depth training was provided for personnel responsible for operating the software. Enkon also created a comprehensive user manual for data entry, report generation, and results analysis.
During the first 12 months, advisory and consulting support is planned to help users make the most effective use of the software’s capabilities.
Long-Term Effects and Sustainability
The system is expected to become part of a broader network of energy-efficient institutions – according to the plan, at least 15 public facilities across the three participating cities will use the software.
Through consistent application and monitoring of data, energy costs will be reduced, budgets can be planned more efficiently, and better control over maintenance and failures will be established.
Technical Aspects and Flexibility
The software has been developed to function uniquely for each facility, tailored to its infrastructure and specific needs. During development, real consumption data from the previous 12 months was used as the baseline.
The alarm system and graphical analyses will allow timely responses in cases of deviations, leakages, technical failures, or excessive consumption.
The project “Sport Facilities Green Energy – SINERGY”, funded by the European Union, is being implemented within the Interreg VI-A IPA Cross-border Cooperation Programme Croatia – Bosnia and Herzegovina – Montenegro 2021–2027.
