As part of the Sport Facilities Green Energy – SINERGY project, three training sessions on energy efficiency and renewable energy sources were held at the end of March and the beginning of April 2025, with 69 employees from public institutions participating: Sports Facilities Vukovar, Sports Center “Igalo,” and the Sports-Cultural-Economic Center “Mejdan” Tuzla. These training sessions represent an important step in educating employees on the significance of energy and water conservation, as well as the implementation of renewable energy sources in daily operations and life.
After an introductory segment highlighting the importance of cross-border cooperation between the cities of Tuzla, Vukovar, and Herceg Novi, participants were introduced to the project’s objectives, activities, and expected results. They were also presented with data on the current consumption of electricity, thermal energy, and water in their respective facilities.
Special attention was given to the importance of reducing energy costs through the application of energy efficiency measures and renewable energy sources. Through the training, participants learned about opportunities for optimizing thermal energy consumption, reducing electricity usage, and conserving water. The goal was to influence their daily habits and behavior, thereby increasing sustainability and reducing costs in sports centers.
During the discussions, many participants expressed a desire to implement the measures learned in their homes, indicating a deep understanding of the topic and a genuine interest in applying it in their personal lives.
