As part of the HEARTS – Healthcare Equity and Access through Resilient and Transparent Support project, funded by the Interreg IPA Cross-border Cooperation Programme Croatia – Bosnia and Herzegovina – Montenegro 2021–2027, two important activities were recently held to enhance health and social services for vulnerable groups.

At the Vukovar Health Centre, early intervention services were presented to raise awareness among professionals and the wider public about the importance of timely support for children with developmental difficulties and their families. Organized by the Vukovar-Srijem County Development Agency, the event featured participation from the Community Service Centre, the project’s lead partner in developing these services. Key project results were highlighted, including the formation of a mobile team, facility upgrades, professional training, and the development of an integrated care model.

Meanwhile, a five-day training was held in Vinkovci at the newly equipped sensory room of the Community Service Centre. The training brought together professionals from partner institutions and focused on modern approaches to sensory therapy and behavioral strategies. The specialized equipment, funded through the HEARTS project, supports individualized, community-based care in a safe and stimulating environment.

Both activities demonstrate the project’s impact in strengthening institutional cooperation and building more accessible, inclusive support systems across the cross-border region.
