From 2 to 4 December 2024, the REVERS project team gathered in the stunning setting of Una National Park in Bihać to officially launch their efforts aimed at integrating eco-tourism development with nature preservation in protected areas.

The opening day focused on establishing the REVERS Work Group and Project Management Team to ensure effective project coordination across partner regions. The following day featured a formal introduction of the project consortium, represented by Natura-Jadera Public Institution for Management of Protected Natural Areas in Zadar County (Lead Partner, HR), Zadar County (HR), Public Institution Velebit Nature Park (HR), Una National Park, Bihać (BA), and the Old Royal Capital Cetinje (ME). Project manager Morana Bačić delivered key presentations highlighting the project’s significance and its expected contribution to the region. The day concluded with a press conference and a study visit to showcase the eco-tourism potential and natural beauty of Una National Park.

The final day of the Kick-off event was dedicated to detailed planning, with meetings of the REVERS Work Group and Project Team to outline strategies and coordinate future activities.

With a total budget of EUR 1,425,224.50, the REVERS project aims to strengthen the role of culture and sustainable tourism in fostering economic growth, social inclusion, and innovation across the region. Local communities will be key players in designing and implementing sustainable tourism initiatives. By aligning tourism and environmental policies, the project will promote the preservation of biodiversity and natural resources while developing innovative eco-cultural tourism products.
