Lead partner of the CrossWaste project EKO-Dunav ltd. for communal economy from Borovo on the 9 May 2025 held an event at which machine for construction waste crushing was presented. With this a new era of sustainable waste management in the Municipality of Borovo has begun.
This investment is not only a technical improvement – it symbolizes a step towards a more modern, cleaner, and more responsible Borovo. Thanks to the CrossWASTE project possibility of crushing bulk and construction waste, the illegal disposal of old furniture, rubble, wooden structures, and similar materials in nature is reduced. This, in turn, creates the possibility of quick and efficient cleaning of the space after construction works, house renovations and other interventions.
Construction waste crusher will have a key role in the implementation of the pilot action through the innovative use of crushed construction waste. The construction waste generated by households within the municipalities will be collected and carefully sorted to separate materials that are not suitable for road filling purposes. The suitable construction waste will then be crushed using a crusher, transforming it into a valuable resource for road improvement.
This environmentally friendly solution aligns with the principles of sustainable development, promoting resource conservation and reducing the environmental impact associated with traditional waste disposal methods.
“Enhancing Cross-Border Waste Management through Sustainable Practices – CrossWaste” is one of the projects funded under Interreg VI-A IPA Programme Croatia-Bosnia and Herzegovina-Montenegro aiming at promoting sustainable construction waste management through one innovative solution for repurposing construction waste and two pilot actions for enhancing road development and inspiring responsible waste practices, contributing to sustainable development and environmental preservation in the program area.
