Operation purpose and expected achievements:
The main objective of the R10D3 project is to improve basic conditions for implementation of circular economy policies in the City of Orašje, City of Vinkovci and Municipality of Ulcinj by investing in the required waste management infrastructure and equipment. Along with that, it is envisaged to raise awareness of relevant stakeholders in the project area (representatives of local and regional government units, SMEs and public utility companies) about the need to introduce principles of circular economy in the everyday waste management policies. Apart from that, it is planned to develop a cross-border mobile application, which will serve as a virtual marketplace for recycled materials. Finally, it is foreseen to organize workshops for elementary school children in the targeted project area with the aim of raising their awareness about the benefits of integrating principles of circular economy in everyday life.
Beneficiaries:
The Lead Partner (LP), City of Orasje (BA), is responsible for overall project implementation and communication with project partners and stakeholders. LP will participate in development and implementation of the activities according to the action plan and will be responsible for the achievement of the project results. LP will invest in construction and equipping of local waste management system in Orasje. Apart from that, lead partner will participate in organization of joint workshops for LGUs, SMEs and waste management companies in the partnership area and creation and printing of the educational materials for workshops in elementary schools.
City of Vinkovci (HR) is responsible for organizing workshops on the circular economy, coordinating the implementation of activities according to the action plan, transferring knowledge to partners, and leveraging Vinkovci’s advanced waste management system to explore potential solutions based on the circular management model. PP2 will invest in recycling containers with a filling level sensor, digital access and measuring along with video surveillance system installation service. Also, it is planned to install 43 semi-underground containers at 14 locations (4 in pilot project).
Municipality of Ulcinj (ME) is responsible for coordinating activities, maintaining communication with partners and stakeholders, participating in meetings and project events, implementing activities based on the action plan, and achieving set project results. PP3 will invest in recycling containers with digital access and measuring and procurement of working machinery.
