Operation purpose and expected achievements:
RACE 2 aims to ensure better, faster and more effective access to emergency services in the cross-border area with a special focus on the prevention of cardiovascular diseases and the use of new technologies (telemedicine software, digital platform for remote examination for emergency services), procurement of equipment (6 sanitary vehicles and set of medical equipment) and knowledge sharing. With organisation of “Reanimation of basic vital functions” training and early cardiovascular risk factor recognition campaign for general population, RACE 2 promotes a culture of self-care and community support.

Beneficiaries:

The Lead Partner (LP), Health Centre Mostar (BA), is responsible for educational campaign “Reanimation of Basic Vital Functions” for the general population, training of EMS medical staff, organization of community events and initiatives aimed at preventing cardiovascular diseases among the general population, implementation of digital solutions (software) to improve EMS work processes and upgrade of IT system, procurement of equipment for improvement of quality of emergency healthcare in Mostar region (sanitary vehicle with full equipment, set of medical and educational equipment, etc.) and creation of promo videos. A new Education Centre will be built and the existing emergency medical service EMS will be improved in the new built annex of two floors to existing building in the Health Centre Mostar.

Beneficiary’s social media:    

Institute for urgent medicine of Zagreb County (HR) is responsible for educational exercises for dispatchers, education of the population about the prevention of the cardiovascular diseases, a healthy lifestyle, and the importance of exercise and smoking cessation through mini-systematic examinations in Zagreb County PP2 will upgrade its ICT infrastructure with communication and IT equipment (mobile devices) to ensure the input and distribution of key information about the intervention in real time. PP2 will also adapt their website for people with disabilities, procure equipment necessary for improvement of quality of emergency healthcare in Zagreb County (3 vehicles adapted for sanitary transportation) and create project promo videos.

Institute for emergency medical care of Montenegro (ME) is responsible for organisation of education “Reanimation of Basic Vital Functions” for the general population, organisation of training of trainers course for medical staff of project partners, organization of community events and initiatives aimed at preventing cardiovascular diseases by raising awareness, providing information and promoting healthy lifestyle choices. PP3 is also responsible for implementation of digital solutions (software) which will improve EMS Montenegro work processes and upgrade of its IT system (with new IT equipment), and procurement of equipment for improvement of quality of emergency healthcare in Montenegro programme area (2 reanimobile with medical equipment, trauma care and laboratory equipment, 24 automatic external defibrillators).
