The Zadar County Development Agency ZADRA NOVA, in collaboration with the lead project partner Čistoća d.o.o. Zadar, held the Info Day for the RECIRCLE project – ImpRovEment of the capacities of waste management system for implementing CIRCular economy principLEs at the Atrium of the Providur’s Palace in Zadar on 23 October 2025. 

The Info Day gathered institutional representatives, educational professionals, project partners, and citizens interested in sustainable waste management.

Agenda highlights included:

  • Opening and welcome speechesby John Ivan Krstičević, Director of Čistoća d.o.o., and Marina Dujmović Vuković, Director of ZADRA NOVA
  • Project presentation by Marija Petani, RECIRCLE Project Manager, Čistoća d.o.o. Zadar
  • Panel discussion “From Waste to Resources”with Valentina Knežević, Head of Project Preparation Department at ZADRA NOVA, and John Ivan Krstičević
  • Interactive quiz “How Do I Recycle?”for participants
  • Networking and lunch

A key feature of the event was the “This Is How I Recycle” art exhibition, showcasing 97 artworks by preschool and primary school children from Zadar, Ražanac, Galovac, Tkon, Zemunik Donji, and Pridraga. The exhibition demonstrated the valuable contribution of young generations to environmental awareness and sustainable community practices.

Project representatives highlighted planned investments, including 15 sets of above-ground and 14 sets of semi-underground waste containers, specialised vehicles, and waste metering technology, aiming to improve operational efficiency and provide citizens with better opportunities for separate waste collection. Educational activities were also emphasised as crucial for long-term success in waste management.

The Info Day also presented other projects implemented by ZADRA NOVA: EUROPE DIRECT Zadar, APOLLO, FutureECOS, TOURAL, AdriaClimPlus, ECOFOODCYCLE, and ADCCAM2ZERO, and hosted guests from Bosnia and Herzegovina participating in cross-border training initiatives.
