On 19th May 2017, in Pleternica, Ms Stella Arneri, Head of the Agency for Regional Development and Managing Authority and Ms Antonija Jozić, Mayor of Pleternica signed the EU funded grant contract for the project Cultural route of Becharac & Ganga at the value of EUR 1.961.365,90. In Lipik, Ms Stella Arneri and Mr Vinko Kasana, Mayor of Lipik signed the EU funded grant contract for the project Heritage route – From Trappists to Border guards at the value of EUR 601.517,01.
The signing event was attended by Mr Franjo Lucić, Member of the Croatian Parliament, Mr Velimir Žunac, State Secretary MRDFEU, Mr Davor Huška, Assistant Minister MRDFEU, Mr Alojz Tomašević, Požega-Slavonia County Prefect, Mr Ivan Vukadin, Mayor of Municipality Tomislavgrad with colleagues and Ms Marija Šarić, Director of Poduzetnički centar Pleternica d.o.o. with colleagues.
The specific objectives of the Heritage Route project are to preserve and restore cultural, historical and natural heritage assets in the cross-border partnership area (Banja Luka, Garešnica, Lipik) through the creation of 116 km of joint tourism routes and to improve the competitiveness of cross-border tourism service providers (public and private). The envisaged duration of the project is 24 months. Besides the Town of Lipik as the Lead Partner, other project partners are also Town of Garešnica and the Humanitarian organisation Caritas in Banja Luka.
The specific objectives of the Becharac&Ganga project are to establish a system of tourism management „destination bećarac and ganga” and to diversify and brand joint cultural and tourism offer, also to educate promoters of tourism products and offers and to improve tourism infrastructure in Pleternica and Tomislavgrad. Besides the Town of Pleternica as the Lead Partner, other project partners are also Municipality of Tomislavgrad, Pleternica Tourist Board, Entrepreneurial Centre Pleternica Ltd. and Culture and Information Centre Tomislavgrad.
The grant contracts for the other selected projects from the 1st Call for Proposals will be signed in due course.
