CUHaCHA project held final conference in Zadar

CUHaCHA project, after 28 months of implementation, officially finished on the 31 December 2022.

The final conference of the project, attended by more than 80 people and followed by all relevant local and regional media was held in Zadar on 2 December 2022.

The conference emphasized the importance of preserving culinary heritage and the way in which it can improve the tourist offer.

The main aim of the project was to contribute to the development of tourism through strengthening and preservation of the common culinary heritage within programme area. Traditional ways of producing and consuming food in the cross-border area are at risk of extinction due to the growing globalization and internationalization of the food market. As a response, the CUHaCHa project developed a new tourist offer based on the creation and promotion of common culinary heritage trails. Through specialized trainings, networking (interactive culinary platform) and promoting new tourist offer (3 new culinary heritage exhibition spaces and 4 culinary exhibitions), all relevant target groups could learn how to use the potential of gastronomic tourism.

Although there are certain similarities between the cuisines of the programme area, each one of them is unique in its own way. Therefore, within the CUHaCHA project, the Monography of culinary heritage was created, in which project tried to offer 45 selected recipes of the climate of this area.

The Lead partner, Zadar County Rural Development Agency, together with the project partners, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Herzegovina – Neretva Canton, Municipality of Tivat and Zadar County, wish for every future reader to have the opportunity to discover the hidden treasures of this programme area, as well as the opportunity to follow the paths of CUHaCHA culinary heritage and to discover all the secrets and richness that the programme area has to offer.
