In the period from 18. to 23.10.2022, as part of the project Safe Together Risk Prevention in Cross-Border Area, a one-day education in topography and digital cartography and a five-day education in Mountain Rescue Medicine (ITLS) organized by the City of Gradiška were successfully completed. The educations were held in the newly reconstructed Educational Training Center in the village of Kozara – Subotići (Gradiška). Educators from GSS (Mountain Rescue Service) in BiH were engaged for carrying out the mentioned educations, which were attended by about 30 trainees – 10 members of the Directorate for Protection and Rescue of Montenegro, 10 from HGSS (Croatian Mountain Rescue Service) Daruvar and 10 members of GSS (Mountain Rescue Service) Gradiška.
The goal of the Mountain Rescue Medicine course was to educate trainees in Mountain Rescue Medicine, which includes procedures for caring for an injured person in hard-to-reach areas and enabling trainees to independently perform certain first aid procedures, covered by theoretical and practical teaching during the course.
15 trainees of the Mountain Rescue Medicine course met all the necessary criteria for passing the Mountain Rescue Medicine course and were presented with certificates, while 16 trainees successfully completed education in topography and digital cartography.
Through these trainings, with the help of experts, the trainees acquired new and improved existing knowledge and skills for finding missing persons and caring for injured persons on the site, which is one of the goals of this project.
