International conference within Interreg IPA CBC project NeurNet

International conference within Interreg IPA CBC Croatia – Bosnia and Herzegovina – Montenegro project „Care management network for patients with pharmacoresistant epilepsy and patients with late stage Parkinson’s disease“ was held in Zadar, on 26-27 April, 2018. The host of the Conference was Croatian Institute for Telemedicine.

State Secretary of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Croatia Tomislav Dulibić, welcomed the participants of the conference and emphasized that Ministry of Health has recognised the importance of telemedicine institutions in cross-border cooperation and pointed out the need for a stronger involvement of the community in addressing the problems of people with pharmacoresistant epilepsy and the late stage of Parkinson’s disease.

Dženita Hukić, representative of the Federal Ministry of Health, lead partner of the project, pointed out that importance of the project for all three countries since it provides an opportunity to create and establish cross-border, innovative, effective and sustainable methodologies and practices of mobility as well as exchange of experience and knowledge between health professionals, establishing long-term partnerships with partner countries, which should contribute to improving quality of health services.

Representative of Montenegro Ministry of Health, Milica Škiljević stated that the goal of the project is to improve the quality and availability of healthcare services for patients with pharmacodynamic epilepsy and the advanced phase of Parkinson’s disease in all three countries involved in this project.

After introductory speeches, in thematic part of the conference, several speakers took part:

Distinguished neurology specialists have emphasized that the establishment of a video EEG telemetry system in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro will provide conditions for development of modern diagnosis of patients with epilepsy, which will enable timely and adequate treatment.
