NeurNet project has been launched

A kick-off meeting of the NeurNet project, also known as Care management network for patients with pharmacoresistant epilepsy and patients with late stage Parkinson’s, financed by the Interreg IPA Cross-border Cooperation Programme Croatia-Bosnia and Herzegovina-Montenegro 2014-2020, took place in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, on 18 December 2017, in Hotel President. The meeting consisted of two parts: introductory part and technical meeting.

Following the introductory speech of Mr. Vedran Marčinko, Advisor of Minister for EU Integration in the Federal Ministry of Health, Ms Dženita Hukić, Project Manager provided participants with the information about the importance of the NeurNet project and its main goals and expected results. Leaders of working packages presented the activities that will be carried out within the framework of the project. The presentation of guest participant, Aicare from Italy, Mr Ilir Qose, was aimed at sharing good practices in Chronic Care Management: Integrated Out of Hospital Solutions. Medical expert in the field of Parkinson disease, Assoc. Prof. DSc Silvio Bašić, Senior Lecturer, Clinical Hospital Dubrava, Croatia presented experiences in the treatment of late stage of Parkinson’s disease and pharmacoresistant epilepsy. This presentation was followed by the presentation regarding consultations in intensive neurology, by , Assoc. Prof. DSc Igor Antončič, Dr, Clinical Hospital Centre, Rijeka, Croatia. This part of the meeting was attended by the representatives of the following institutions: Federal Ministry of Health; Ministry of Health, Montenegro; Croatian Institute for Telemedicine; University Clinical Hospital Mostar; University Clinical Hospital Tuzla; Hospital DR.FRA MATO NIKOLIĆ Nova Bila; Cantonal Hospital Orašje; Clinical Hospital Dubrava; Clinical Hospital Centre Rijeka; Aicare S.R.L.

The technical part of the meeting was organized with the aim to enable all members of the project team, appointed from the partner institutions, to get better acquainted with further steps of the project, and in order to determine the work plan and specific responsibilities of all members of the management team, as well as to establish its Steering Committee.
The project partners discussed their responsibilities, deadlines, visibility, communication and funding.

The meeting was attended by the project team members and associates from all partner institutions:
1. Federal Ministry of Health (Lead Partner, in charge for management and communication);
2. Croatian Institute of Telemedicine (in charge for implementation package); and
3. Ministry of Health, Montenegro.

All present project partner representatives took an active part in the meeting, during which the Steering Committee members responsible for the monitoring of the implementation of the project were nominated.
