Project partners from project “competenceNET” producing protective visor masks for medical workers

The use of 3D printers for making the visor masks to protect healthcare professionals from the COVID-19 virus is one of the most significant initiatives to combat the pandemic.

In that sense, City of Podgorica and the Union of Employers of Montenegro (UPCG) in collaboration with the Amateur Radio Club of Montenegro, the Polytechnic-Montenegrin Association for Technical Culture and Montenegro Robotics, joined the initiative of providing relevant equipment for health workers in Montenegro. Hundreds of protective visor masks were produced at the Competence Centre in Podgorica, which was opened and equipped as one of the activities in the project “competenceNET” financed within the 1st CfP. Visor masks were manufactured on five 3D printers, part of valuable equipment procured by project partner UPCG. Masks were given to the Clinical Center of Montenegro and other health institutions in Podgorica. This action has shown that the Competence centre financed from the Programme has justified its existence and the investment.

Development Agency Žepče also made available its 3D printer financed from the project to the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering with the purpose of manufacturing visor masks. Masks are distributed without charge to all the medical care institutions in the Zenica-Doboj Canton in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

We are happy that our projects are making such great contribution to the community. Keep up with the good work!
