All projects currently being implemented within our Programme now have an opportunity to host and work with volunteers in implementing and communicating their activities.
Association of European Border Regions (AEBR) manages the initiative Interreg Volunteer Youth (IVY) on behalf of DG Regio to involve young people in Interreg programmes and projects. The initiative is part of the European Solidarity Corps, a project of the European Union to benefit communities across Europe and beyond. With IVY, volunteers support territorial cooperation: the aim is to involve young people in Interreg and demonstrate how cross-border projects are finding shared solutions.
Since 2017, almost 400 volunteers have been deployed, strengthening the brand of Interreg and its dimension of solidarity. See here how volunteers joined Interreg projects from Berlin to the Caribbean.
AEBR grants a financial support to volunteers, as well as a contribution to travel costs. AEBR also takes care of insurance for volunteers, in this way allowing young people to gather such experiences.
The mobility period can last from a minimum of 2 to a maximum of 6 months.
The procedure to host volunteers is very easy and user-friendly. You can find more information and documents to apply here: www.interregyouth.com/hostorganisations
