This project aims to strengthen the competencies of entrepreneurs by establishing three cross-border clusters. Grouping or clustering of small and medium-sized enterprises will increase the negotiating power with government bodies, financial institutions and, horizontally, with customers and their products or services. In addition, the BACAR project seeks to encourage cross-border networking, strengthen entrepreneurial capacities and strengthen innovation and transfer of new technologies. Some of the project outputs include setting up three cross border networks of clusters in the creative industry, tourism and local food sectors and establishing cluster support institutions.
Municipality of Kotor (MNE) is the project’s lead partner and is responsible for overall project implementation. Apart from management, Municipality of Kotor will have a leading role in coordinating clustering activities in the Creative Industry future cluster, as one of three planned clusters, and setting up the cluster support center in Kotor.
Chamber of Economy of Montenegro (MNE) will participate in development and promotion of the concept of clusters, development of cluster methodology, cluster formation, organization and provision of trainings, researches and studies, etc.
Public Institution RERA SD for Coordination and Development of Split Dalmatia County (CRO) will be responsible for coordinating clustering activities in the Local food cluster, as the second of three planned clusters. The partner will also work on adapting a new cluster support center in Split-Dalmatia County.
Ministry of Economy Herzegovina-Neretva Canton (BA) will be responsible for coordinating clustering activities in the Tourism cluster, as the third of three planned clusters. The partner will adapt a new cluster support center in Mostar.
CCIRS-Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Trebinje Region (BA) will promote the concept and importance of clusters, work on the forming of the sector-oriented project groups and map the potential for cluster development in the selected sectors.
