Within the framework of the REVERS project, the Public Institution National Park “Una” successfully organized a three-day training programme entitled “Tourism Programmes and Products in Sustainable Tourism Destinations. The training took place in Bihać from 29 to 31 January 2025 and brought together participants from different sectors involved in tourism development, with the aim of strengthening capacities for the creation of sustainable, innovative, and high-quality tourism offers in protected areas.

Day 1 – Foundations of Sustainable Tourism Product Development

The first day of the training focused on the development of tourism programmes and products in sustainable tourism destinations, with particular emphasis on designing attractive and high-quality tourist experiences aligned with the principles of environmental protection and preservation of natural and cultural heritage.

Through expert-led lectures and discussions, participants explored key concepts of sustainable tourism and exchanged knowledge, experiences, and good practices, fostering a multidisciplinary approach to sustainable destination development.

Day 2 – Green Skills and Sustainable Practices in Tourism

The second day was dedicated to the development and application of green skills in tourism. The programme addressed:

  • principles of sustainable tourism and responsible use of natural resources,
  • conservation and valorisation of natural and cultural heritage in tourism destinations,
  • the role of green skills in improving the quality and sustainability of tourism programmes and products.

Interactive sessions, thematic discussions, and experience-sharing enabled participants to deepen their understanding of sustainable practices and their practical application in modern tourism development.

Day 3 – Digital Tools for Tourism Development

The final day of the training focused on the practical application of digital tools in tourism, highlighting their importance for competitiveness and sustainability. Key topics included:

  • use of GPS and orientation applications in the creation of tourism programmes and products,
  • basic navigation skills and field application of digital tools,
  • the role of social media in promoting tourism content,
  • design and digital promotion of one-day tourism programmes through group work.

Through interactive presentations and hands-on exercises, participants developed concrete solutions and presented the results of their group work, demonstrating the value of digital tools as a key element of contemporary tourism development.

At the conclusion of the training, an evaluation of the programme was conducted, and certificates of participation were awarded to all participants.

The three-day training contributed significantly to strengthening local and regional capacities for sustainable tourism development, supporting the overall objectives of the REVERS project in promoting environmentally responsible and innovative tourism solutions in protected natural areas.
