Operation purpose and expected achievements:
The AgroSolarNet project aims to accelerate the green and digital transition of rural areas across Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro by promoting sustainable agriculture combined with renewable energy solutions. The project will establish three pilot agrosolar systems in Vinkovci, Odžak and Ulcinj, serving as demonstration sites for testing innovative approaches that integrate food and energy production while increasing agricultural resilience and energy efficiency. A joint digital monitoring platform will provide real-time data on energy generation, crop performance and environmental conditions, supporting knowledge exchange and evidence-based decision-making across the programme area. The project will also develop strategic documents, including a financing model for agrosolar systems and a replication strategy with policy recommendations, while implementing the Agrosolar Academy and other training activities to strengthen the capacities of farmers, students, advisors, researchers and local authorities. By fostering cross-border cooperation and enabling the replication of successful solutions, AgroSolarNet will contribute to the development of a smart, climate-resilient and sustainable rural economy aligned with the European Green Deal and the digital transition.
