Budget: EUR 1.632.750,07
Number of partners: 3

Operation purpose and expected achievements:
The ECO-ALLY CITIES project aims to accelerate the transition towards a circular and resource-efficient economy in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro by modernising municipal waste management systems, strengthening institutional capacities, and promoting responsible consumption and sustainable resource use through active citizen participation. The project addresses common cross-border challenges related to low recycling rates, excessive reliance on landfilling, outdated waste management infrastructure, and limited public awareness by introducing innovative technological solutions, circular economy practices, and coordinated waste management strategies. Planned activities include the procurement of specialised waste collection vehicles, the installation of smart waste separation containers, the establishment of pilot reuse centres, the development of the Waste Tracker mobile application, certified training programmes for municipal staff, and comprehensive awareness-raising and educational campaigns. Through pilot investments, digital innovation, capacity-building activities, and cross-border knowledge exchange, the project will strengthen the ability of local authorities and utility companies to initiate sustainable waste management practices, improve recycling and reuse rates, and promote the long-term transition goals towards zero-waste communities across the Programme area.
