Operation completion date: 14 August 2028
Budget: EUR 1.474.167,00
Number of partners: 3
Operation purpose and expected achievements:
The ICARE project aims to improve the quality, accessibility, and effectiveness of preventive healthcare services in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro by strengthening early diagnosis, modernising healthcare infrastructure, and expanding community-based healthcare services. The project addresses common cross-border challenges related to outdated diagnostic equipment, limited access to preventive healthcare in rural areas, insufficient early detection of childhood developmental disorders, high incidence of gynaecological cancers and lung diseases, and shortages of qualified healthcare professionals. Planned activities include the procurement of modern medical equipment and home-care vehicles, the development of an innovative digital application for assessing children’s development and detecting potential developmental deviations, the implementation of preventive screening programmes and educational campaigns, the organisation of specialised training programmes and study visits for healthcare professionals, and the expansion of home-based healthcare services. Through pilot investments, digital innovation, professional capacity building, and cross-border cooperation, the project will strengthen the capacity of healthcare institutions to deliver modern, accessible, and preventive healthcare services, improve early diagnosis and disease prevention, and contribute to more resilient healthcare systems across the Programme area.
