Operation completion date: 14 July 2028
Budget: EUR 1.647.962,58
Number of partners: 2

Operation purpose and expected achievements:
The MEDIRADAR project aims to improve the early detection and diagnosis of breast and mediastinal cancers in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina by strengthening the diagnostic capacities of healthcare institutions and introducing innovative digital pathology and artificial intelligence-based diagnostic solutions. The project addresses common cross-border challenges related to delayed cancer diagnosis, limited access to advanced diagnostic technologies, shortages of specialised medical personnel, and the lack of harmonised diagnostic protocols. Planned activities include the procurement of state-of-the-art medical and digital pathology equipment, the implementation of AI-supported diagnostic tools, the organisation of joint professional training programmes and study visits, the development of harmonised diagnostic workflows and teleconsultation procedures, and the implementation of preventive and awareness-raising activities promoting early cancer detection. Through investments in innovative technologies, professional capacity building, digital transformation, and cross-border knowledge exchange, the project will strengthen the resilience of healthcare systems, improve diagnostic accuracy and efficiency, enhance cooperation between partner institutions, and contribute to earlier diagnosis and better treatment outcomes for cancer patients across the Programme area.
