Priority Axis 2: Green investments in environmental protection and efficient risk management
Operation start date: 15 August 2026
Operation completion date: 14 August 2028
Budget: EUR 1.075.591,20
Number of partners: 5

Operation purpose and expected achievements:
The ReNewSpace project aims to improve energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro by promoting innovative circular renovation models for public buildings and urban neighbourhoods. The project addresses common cross-border challenges related to ageing and energy-inefficient building stock, limited integration of renewable energy sources, seismic vulnerability, and fragmented renovation planning through the development of harmonised methodologies, digital tools, and sustainable financing models. Planned activities include the development of a Building Assessment and Ranking Tool, BIM-based renovation methodologies, Green Neighbourhood models, financial simulation and risk assessment tools, and pilot renovation projects in all participating countries. Through technical innovation, pilot investments, capacity-building activities, and cross-border knowledge exchange, the project will strengthen the capacity of public authorities and relevant stakeholders to plan, implement, and replicate circular, energy-efficient, and climate-resilient renovation solutions, contributing to the green transition and long-term sustainable management of the built environment across the Programme area.
