On September 29–30, the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds of the Republic of Croatia hosted the 3rd Networking Meeting of Control Bodies for the Interreg IPA 2021–2027 Programmes in Zagreb.
The event brought together national controllers from the participating countries: Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Serbia. The meeting provided a platform for controllers responsible for the financial oversight and verification of EU-funded cross-border cooperation projects to exchange experiences and share best practices.
The discussions focused on enhancing the quality and consistency of financial control practices across the participating programmes, with particular emphasis on risk-based methodologies and error prevention.
Key sessions covered the implementation progress of the Interreg IPA programmes for the 2021–2027 period, the most common errors in financial reporting, and the identification of irregularities in public procurement procedures.
By addressing practical challenges and exchanging knowledge and best practices, the meeting contributed to strengthening financial management and ensuring compliance in the implementation of EU-funded programmes.
