Association of European Border Regions (AEBR) acts for the benefit of all border/cross-border regions in Europe and it’s the only European wise association dealing exclusively with cross-border cooperation and one of the main players in regional policy at European level.
AEBR Cross Border Award ”Sail of Papenburg” is an award that honours particular achievements in the area of cross-border cooperation – in cultural, economic, institutional, environmental or social sphere in a border or cross-border region.
For the award eligible are only organisations aiming to boost direct neighbourly cooperation along a national border, in particular institutionalised cross border associations.
Note that the award does not honour interregional or transnational projects and programmes.
Every year AEBR has specific guidelines for competition and the motto for year 2018 is:
Education and Employment in Border and Cross-Border Regions.
The winner of the AEBR Cross-Border Award is decided by majority decision on the part of the members of the AEBR Executive Committee.
Announcement of the winning project will take place in the context of the AEBR annual conference on 20 – 21 September 2018 in Oulu/Finland.
Deadline for project submission is 15 July 2018 and requested language for applications is English.
