Final conference of the project Safe Together – Risk prevention in the cross-border area

On Tuesday, 31 January 2023, the final conference of the project Safe Together – Risk prevention in the cross-border area, co-financed from the INTERREG IPA CBC Programme Croatia – Bosnia and Herzegovina – Montenegro 2014-2020, was held in the premises of Cultural Center Gradiška.

As a part of this project event, final conference was organized for state and regional officials, mayors, civil protection, representatives of mountain rescue services, representatives of the media. All three project partners: Ministry of Interior – Directorate for rescue and protection, City of Gradiška and City of Daruvar participated and presented the implemented activities and achieved project results.

The conference began with welcoming speeches by representatives of all three partners, who emphasized the importance of cross-border cooperation in preventing the risk of various natural disasters.

The mayor of the City of Gradiška, Mr. Zoran Adžić, highlighted the achieved results of the project through which the material and human capacities were strengthened, which through various trainings were trained to react adequately during natural calamities and natural disasters. Those present were also addressed by Mr. Radomir Šćepanović, Head of the Directorate for Operational Affairs – Ministry of Internal Affairs of Montenegro and Mr. Damir Lneniček, mayor of City of Daruvar, who emphasized the importance and significance of this project.

The final conference was concluded with the achievement of project results:

  • Strengthened material capacities for risk prevention, protection and rescue in case of natural disasters;
  • Strengthened human capacities for rescue and protection through a joint training program in the cross-border area;
  • Established Mountain Rescue Service Gradiška – GSS Gradiška;
  • A joint demonstration exercise which was held in Daruvar;
  • Public promotion of the project.
