On 23 December 2020, the Lead Partner Ministry of Interior of Montenegro – Directorate for Emergency Management in cooperation with other Project Partners, the City of Gradiška (Bosnia and Herzegovina) and the City of Daruvar (Croatia), organized an online kick-off conference for project SAFE TOGETHER – Risk prevention in the cross-border area.
The event gathered participants and representatives from different institutions and organizations from three partner countries. Besides the representatives of project partners, the conference was also attended by the representatives of the following institutions and organizations: European Integration Office of Montenegro, Croatian mountain rescue service (HGSS), the Republic Administration of Civil Protection of the Republic of Srpska (RUCZ RS), Mountain rescue service Banja Luka (GSSBL) and Mountain rescue service of the Republic of Srpska (GSSRS).
The total value of the Project is EUR 1,276,113.89, out of which EUR 1,084,696.79 is co-financed by the EU. The Project was approved under the 2nd Call for Proposals and within the Priority Axis 2 – Protecting the environment and nature, improving risk protection and promoting sustainable energy end energy efficiency.
The main objective of this project is to improve the capability to react to disasters through increasing the level of preparedness and operability of the rescue services in the cross-border area of central Croatia, northern Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro. The specific objectives of this project are: strengthening of material capacities of the applicants and partners for risk prevention and protection and rescue in the cases of accidents and disasters; strengthening of human capacities for rescue and protection through joint educational programmes in the cross-border area; and improvement of quality of life through raising the security level in the cross-border area.
