The main objective of the ERI Health project is to is to improve quality and accessibility of public health services in cross-border epidemics and emergencies. The project aims to strengthen capacities for timely detection, diagnose and control of anthropozoonoses and vector-borne diseases, needed to protect the population in the Programme area from the consequences of COVID-19 and other epidemics. This goal will be achieved through several components as the project will enable procurement of modern diagnostic and medical equipment, specialed transport vehicles and the improvement of knowledge and skills of medical staff within responsible health institutions.
The lead partner, Public Health Institute of the Republic of Srpska (BA) is responsible for coordinating project partners and ensuring effective implementation of all project activities. Moreover, as a part of project activities the Institute performs microbiological, epidemiological, radiological and physical and chemical testing, including general surveillance and analysis of entire health sector. The LP is also responsible for development of joint IT platform and mobile application for cross-border alter and early response system. Educational component of the project is also part of the activities of this project partner. Given the public health importance of COVID-19, the focus of the project is on improvement of the PCR diagnostic services for COVID-19.
Public Health Institute of Sisak-Moslavina County (HR) focuses its engagement on quality and medical care to prevent and combat diseases, and to promote the health among the population of Sisak-Moslavina County. Project partner is primarly responsible for the development and preparation of training program that will focus on common surveillance and response to anthropozoonoses and vector-borne diseases and conduction of preventive campaigns for same diseases. Together with procurement of specialized thematic laboratory equipment for provision of improved diagnostic services, including the equipment for COVID-19 testing, this project partner conducts collection and analysis of mosquito samples. The collected samples will be analyzed for carriage of infectious agents.
Public Health Institute of Montenegro (ME) is responsible for the development of strategic and operational framework for cross-border cooperation that will result in cooperation protocols and standard operation procedures for prevention of anthropozoonoses and vector-borne diseases. Project partner is also responsible for formulation, coordination and delivery of prevention campaigns, will participate in development of IT platform and perform training of health professionals in Montenegro.
