Podgorica, March 4 and 5, 2026 – At the fifth meeting held in Podgorica, the Monitoring Committee approved funding for 25 projects under the Second Call for Proposals of the Interreg VI-A IPA Programme Croatia – Bosnia and Herzegovina – Montenegro 2021–2027.

A total of 29.9 million euro in EU funds was made available under the Second Call. The overwhelming response demonstrated strong interest in the programme, with 188 applications collectively requesting 190.8 million euro in EU co-financing — more than six times the available budget.

The approved projects fall under five specific objectives, including research and innovation, energy efficiency, circular economy, health services, and culture and tourism. Altogether, the 25 projects involve 111 partners from the three participating countries. Of these, 15 lead partners are from Croatia, 7 from Bosnia and Herzegovina, and 3 from Montenegro.

The Second Call provided applicants with an opportunity to design and submit innovative initiatives addressing key cross-border development priorities. The high number of applications received reflects strong commitment and enthusiasm for cross-border cooperation throughout the region.

The Monitoring Committee expressed its appreciation to all applicants for their participation and interest. It also noted that this was the final Call for Proposals within the 2021–2027 financial period.

At the meeting the Managing Authority and Joint Secretariat presented the current Programme and projects state of play as well as available information on post 2027 period.

During their visit to Podgorica, members of the Monitoring Committee also toured the project “SAFE TOGETHER – Risk Prevention in the Cross-Border Area,” financed under the Interreg IPA Cross-border Cooperation Programme Croatia – Bosnia and Herzegovina – Montenegro 2014–2020 and project INEREP, the strategic project under implementation financed from 2021-2027 period.
