The wine and olive oil laboratories have officially started operating, following their presentation to interested winemakers and olive oil producers at the Konavle Rural Center. These are highly modern devices that will be available to producers during the production phase with the aim of improving product quality. The equipment was procured with European funds through the Crossmart project.
A laboratory technician will be available to producers three mornings a week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday). In addition, a special training session on handling the equipment was completed earlier last week.
The Crossmart project is financed under the Interreg IPA Croatia – Bosnia and Herzegovina – Montenegro program. Alongside the Municipality of Konavle, the project includes five other partners: the Dubrovnik-Neretva County Center for Entrepreneurship, the Office for European Integration of the Central Bosnia Canton, the Municipality of Tuzi, the University of Zagreb – Faculty of Agriculture, and the Association for Economic Development REDAH.
The total project budget amounts to €1,516,844.60, with the Municipality of Konavle’s share amounting to €507,780.00.
