Within the CBC GAIN project, co-financed by the European Union through the Interreg IPA Programme Croatia – Bosnia and Herzegovina – Montenegro 2021–2027, and with the support of the Ministry of Regional Investment Development and Cooperation with Non-Governmental Organizations, the Regional GameDev Hackathon 2025 was successfully held at the Montenegro Science and Technology Park in Podgorica from 10 to 12 October 2025.

The event, organised by the ICT Cortex in partnership with SIMORA (Croatia) and INTERA Technology Park (Bosnia and Herzegovina), brought together 16 regional teams who spent 48 hours developing innovative video game concepts. The hackathon showcased the strength and creativity of the regional game development community and provided participants with the opportunity to test their ideas, enhance their skills, and build cross-border professional networks.

The first place went to team from Bosnia and Herzegovina, followed by Croatian team in second place, and Gamebreakers team from Montenegro in third. All teams received recognition for their creativity and teamwork, while experienced mentors contributed to the high quality of the competition.

The hackathon concluded with enthusiasm and a shared commitment to continue cooperation through future initiatives. The upcoming opening of GameDevHub in Podgorica will provide a dedicated space for further development of ideas born during the hackathon, as well as a venue for meet-ups, trainings, and educational events that will strengthen the regional gaming ecosystem.
