Within the framework of the Sport Facilities Green Energy – SINERGY project, the Deputy Mayor of the City of Vukovar and the Head of the Administrative Department for Social Affairs visited the Vukovar Swimming Pool to gain insight into the ongoing works contributing to the modernization and increased energy efficiency of this important sports facility.
The modernization of LED lighting is currently being completed, including:
- replacement of worn-out lighting fixtures with energy-efficient LED solutions,
- installation of lighting control equipment.

This investment, valued at EUR 86,213.98 (incl. VAT), will result in energy savings and improved conditions for training and competitions.
Works are also underway on the installation of one cooling unit (300 kW) and two heat pumps (200 kW each), enabling optimal heating and cooling throughout the year, with maximum use of renewable energy sources. The value of this phase amounts to EUR 304,268.70 (incl. VAT).
Thanks to the SINERGY project, the Vukovar Swimming Pool is becoming more modern, energy-efficient, and better adapted to the needs of athletes, recreational users, and the local community.
The works are progressing according to plan, and upon completion, the facility will contribute to the region’s sustainable development goals.

The total value of the SINERGY project is EUR 1,856,980.94, with 85% financed by the European Union through the Interreg VI-A IPA Croatia – Bosnia and Herzegovina – Montenegro 2021–2027 programme.
