As part of the ClimBeach project, four new weather stations have been installed at the beaches of Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The aim is to strengthen climate and weather monitoring on beaches, enabling data-driven analysis of long-term environmental trends and informed decision-making for sustainable coastal management.
The project partner Public Enterprise for Coastal Zone Management of Montenegro has installed three new weather stations at the following locations: Plavi Horizonti, Utjeha, and Pizana.

The project partner Municipality of Neum has installed a modern METOS 5 meteorological station in the coastal area of Neum, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The weather station has been set up at the Druga Strana Beach monitoring site, a location exposed to the open sea from the west and northwest, and directly influenced by winds and wave action from these directions. Equipped with sensors for measuring air temperature, relative humidity, atmospheric pressure, wind speed and direction, as well as precipitation, the METOS 5 station provides comprehensive climate data. It ensures reliable and continuous monitoring of key environmental parameters.

By investing in smart climate technology, we are improving our capacity to address environmental challenges, enable informed decision-making, and strengthen the resilience of our coastal community. The collected data will support climate change analysis, enable risk assessments for coastal areas, and help strengthen the capacity to adapt to changing conditions.
Together, we are working on sustainable solutions for coastal areas affected by climate change!
