As part of the BLUECONNECT project, the Chamber of Commerce of Bosnia and Herzegovina has procured and installed a modern cold storage chamber, further strengthening its technical capacities in support of the Blue Growth sector.

The cold storage chamber, with a capacity of up to 5 tonnes, is intended for the storage of fisheries and aquaculture products, as well as by-products for further processing and sale. Operating at controlled temperatures between 0 and 2°C, it ensures proper preservation of freshness, quality, and nutritional value, while reducing post-harvest losses. The equipment has been fully installed and tested and will enable producers and stakeholders to gain hands-on insight into modern standards of product handling, storage, and distribution, particularly in line with EU market requirements. The introduction of this equipment also strengthens the connection between production and market access, supporting more efficient supply chains and improving overall productivity in freshwater fish processing.

With this investment, BLUECONNECT continues to deliver tangible results on the ground, supporting more efficient and sustainable practices in the fisheries and aquaculture sector.
