The AllerShield – Cross-border Monitoring Platform project has launched a new digital platform providing real-time information on airborne allergens, air quality and meteorological conditions across Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro.
Available at www.allershield.eu, the platform brings together biological and chemical air quality parameters, offering users easy access to current pollen allergen concentrations, air quality monitoring data, meteorological information, and educational content on pollen allergies and health protection measures. Particular attention is given to invasive plant species that can affect human health and the environment.
An important feature of the platform is its interactive map, which allows users to monitor environmental conditions in their area. Developed as part of our project’s pilot activities, the platform supports partner institutions in collecting and analysing data while making relevant environmental information more accessible to experts and the general public. It also represents an important step towards establishing an early warning system for potentially hazardous air pollutants.
Alongside the platform launch, our project has also released a new video showcasing its key activities and results. The video takes viewers through the entire process of environmental monitoring – from field pollen sampling and air quality measurements to laboratory analysis, cross-border cooperation and the development of the shared digital platform.
It also highlights the work of experts from partner institutions and demonstrates the importance of a coordinated approach to monitoring allergenic pollen, air quality and invasive plant species across the programme area.
Through cooperation between partners from three countries, AllerShield is contributing to improved environmental monitoring, better access to reliable data and greater public awareness of environmental factors affecting human health and quality of life.
