On October 16, 2025, an educational workshop, dedicated to the importance of biodiversity conservation and the potential for developing sustainable tourism through activities such as birdwatching was organized at the Nature House Ilinčica in Tuzla, within of the PA.CON II project.

The workshop gathered students of the Secondary School of Tourism and environmental activists. Participants showed great interest in topics related to rare and endangered bird species in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the procedures for declaring protected areas, and the ways local communities can be involved in nature conservation activities. They demonstrated a strong understanding of the importance of habitat preservation, especially for bird species, and recognized birdwatching as a realistic opportunity for developing eco-tourism in the Tuzla Canton.

During the discussion, participants also shared their own ideas for future activities that could be implemented through schools, institutions, and civic initiatives, confirming that the workshop not only met expectations but also sparked new ideas and initiatives for continued action.

The workshop was held within of the PA.CON II project, co-financed through the Interreg VI-A IPA Programme CBC Croatia – Bosnia and Herzegovina – Montenegro 2021–2027, with the support of the ERDF and IPA III funds of the European Union.
