On June 22, 2026, the official opening of the renovated Visitor Center in Tuzla was held. The Center was reconstructed and modernized within the framework of the Pannonian-Adriatic Connection II (PA.CON II) project. The event was organized by the NERDA Development Association, the City of Tuzla, and the Tuzla City Tourist Board, bringing together representatives of institutions, project partners, civil society organizations, media representatives, and other interested guests.

During the ceremony, the project results that contributed to the improvement of tourism infrastructure and the strengthening of capacities for promoting Tuzla’s tourism attractions were presented. Representatives of the Tuzla City Tourist Board and the NERDA Development Association addressed the attendees, emphasizing the importance of the joint activities implemented through the PA.CON II project for the development of sustainable tourism and the enhancement of tourism service quality.

The reconstruction of the Visitor Center included a comprehensive renovation of both the interior and exterior areas of the facility, with the aim of creating a functional, modern, and accessible space for tourists and all visitors to the city. Particular attention was given to improving the visitor experience, enhancing the presentation of tourist information and attractions, and creating better conditions for the promotion of Tuzla’s natural, cultural, and historical heritage.

The newly renovated Visitor Center will provide high-quality information services for domestic and international tourists, improve the promotion of local tourist attractions, and offer more effective support to the development of the tourism sector. At the same time, working conditions for employees have been improved, further strengthening the capacity of the Tuzla City Tourist Board to provide services to visitors.

Following the official part of the program, participants had the opportunity to tour the renovated premises and learn more about the Center’s new features and functionalities.

The PA.CON II project is funded through the Interreg IPA Cross-Border Cooperation Programme Croatia – Bosnia and Herzegovina – Montenegro and represents a continuation of the successful cooperation among project partners aimed at developing sustainable tourism, improving tourism infrastructure, and strengthening cross-border cooperation within the programme area.
