Within the framework of the project RECIRCLE – ImpRovEment of the capacities of waste management system for implementing CIRCular economy principLEs, representatives of the project partnership and stakeholders from the programme area participated in a study visit to Madrid, Spain.
The aim of the study visit was to provide participants with the opportunity to become familiar with examples of good practice in the field of waste management and the implementation of circular economy principles.

During the visit, participants visited the Valdemingómez Technology Park. The facility represents a major technological hub for waste management, operated by the City Council of Madrid (Ayuntamiento de Madrid), and integrates a wide range of advanced waste treatment and recovery systems.

The programme also included a visit to Sanimobel, a Spanish company specialised in the design, manufacturing and marketing of urban waste containers.
Through these visits, participants gained valuable insight into modern waste management systems, innovative industrial solutions, and practical applications of circular economy principles in urban environments. The study visit also enabled knowledge exchange and networking with international experts and practitioners in the field of sustainable resource management.
