About

Low level of competitiveness and a generally unsupportive business environment, in comparison to EU averages, is a problem present in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Montenegro.  The shortage of skilled workers and lack of relevant competences in product design, export management, financial management and marketing is a problem that effects the competitiveness of enterprises. The competenceNET project aims to address this challenge by improving relevant infrastructure and services, introducing training programs for unemployed and establishing a transnational networking model. The idea is to raise overall competence levels and opportunities for SMEs. Among a number of project outputs,  establishing a new cross-border network on business environment, drafting new curriculums for SME competence training programmes and adapting two buildings into business competence centers are seen as the most important ones.

Partners

competenceNET’s lead partner, Development Agency Žepče (BA), will coordinate and guide partners in implementation of best practices during the design of entrepreneurship centers. The partner will be involved in pilot programmes and develop training modules. The partner will also adapt an old school building into a business competence center.

Municipality of Stari Jankovci (CRO) will ensure that specialized organizations and public companies take active part in the project. It will work towards animating the freelance experts to participate in project activities. The partner will renovate and adapt an old building in Stari Jankovci into a business competence center.

Montenegrin Employers Federation (MNE) will be specially oriented to attract SMEs and their representatives to take part in all project activates. The partner will focus on the Montenegrin part of the project area and ensure that involved parties benefit from project outputs.

Municipality of Tovarnik (CRO) is in charge of organising two training modules for future entrepreneurs, covering topics such as financial management and sources of financing.
