The main goal of the project SAFE TOGETHER is to improve the capability to react to disasters through an increase in the level of preparedness and operability of the rescue services in the cross- border area of central Croatia, northern Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro. Project results are: educated staff (at least 10 people from each country), new GSS stations/services founded, and public- raised awareness of preserving the environment and nature. Also, within the project, development of infrastructure is planned, resulting in renovated training centers for risk prevention in the cross-border area (Daruvar, Gradiška and Podgorica). The total budget of the project investments is around 514.738,00 EUR.
The Lead partner, Ministry of the Interior (ME) provides higher level of security for the citizens of Montenegro through achieving human and material preconditions for reaction in crisis situations. In order for raising the capacities for preventive and operational acting in service of protection and rescue in the area of Montenegro, National training centre is being established for education and training of all members of rescue and protection units in Montenegro.
City of Gradiska (BA) increases the level of preparedness and reaction in case of accidents and catastrophies by founding a GSS station on its territory. Because of a need for a permanent GSS station and for more educated (certified) staff for rescue, Educational centre is being established by the City of Gradiška, where education for the members of operative forces, economic subjets and citizens are taking place. Expected benefits for the City of Gradiška are enchanced human and material capacities regarding the preparedness in urgent cases and risk prevention, as well as reacting in cases of accidents and catastrophies.
City of Daruvar (HR) is responsible for establishing an Educational centre where education for the members of operative forces, economic subjects and citizens are taking place.
