As the Managing Authority for the Interreg VI-A IPA Croatia – Bosnia and Herzegovina – Montenegro Programme, the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds will showcase six projects connecting our three countries and contributing to the protection of the sea, drinking water and coastline, as well as more responsible environmental management.
We will also show how EU-funded projects work in practice – from equipment used to protect our natural resources to an underwater robot that detects pollution on the Adriatic seabed! Sixth-grade students from Cavtat and Gruda primary schools will also take part in a creative drawing workshop.

More about the Interreg VI-A IPA Croatia – Bosnia and Herzegovina – Montenegro Programme
Croatia implements several Interreg programmes focused on cooperation between EU Member States and partner countries, including the Interreg VI-A IPA Croatia – Bosnia and Herzegovina – Montenegro Programme.
For the 2021–2027 programming period, EUR 118 million is available, with 4 strategic and 58 regular projects contracted to date. Numerous projects are also being implemented in Dubrovnik-Neretva County.
Which projects, results and equipment will we present to the public?
Thanks to the Blueconnect project, visitors will have the opportunity to take a closer look at the fascinating world of the Adriatic Sea and its inhabitants. Using a microscope, they will be able to see what a sardine egg looks like – the fish many people enjoy grilling – and learn how the project contributes to protecting the fragile marine ecosystem, which is increasingly threatened by rising sea temperatures.
The Climbeach project, also implemented under the Programme, focuses on the protection of Adriatic beaches. Visit the project stand to discover what probes are used to measure sea temperature, salinity, currents and waves, and how the collected data supports environmental protection and climate change adaptation.
What does the seabed of the Adriatic look like, and how can marine pollution be detected? Find out at the Marrobo project stand, where a sophisticated underwater robot will be on display. Visitors will also be able to use VR headsets to dive into a virtual underwater world and experience the Adriatic Sea in a completely new way.
The Mowaclim project will present solutions for tackling river salinisation, one of the major challenges associated with climate change. Visitors will learn about the tools used in the Neretva Valley to monitor rising Adriatic Sea levels and how these changes affect local communities and agriculture.
At the Smartwater project stand, discover how the quality of aquatic environments is monitored and analysed using artificial intelligence and modern remote sensing technologies. Visitors will be able to see advanced research probes and unmanned aerial vehicles and learn about innovative methods for monitoring the condition of aquatic environments.
Curious about the quality of drinking water in Konavle? Or how losses of valuable drinking water from the water supply network can be reduced? Find the answers at the Waterlink project stand, implemented under the Interreg VI-A IPA Croatia – Bosnia and Herzegovina – Montenegro Programme. Visitors will have the opportunity to see modern equipment and solutions that contribute to more efficient management of water resources.
