The Cross Border Coworking Conference (CBCC26) was held from 12 to 15 October 2026 at the Duke’s Palace in the historic centre of Zadar, within our CODES project – Cooperation for Development of Cross Border Business Environment Strengthened. The conference brought together more than 100 participants from around the world to exchange knowledge, explore new working models and strengthen connections among coworking communities, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders.
The sixth edition of the conference focused on the future of remote work, the development of coworking communities and opportunities for regional cooperation, contributing to the CODES project’s objectives of strengthening innovation capacity, promoting advanced technologies and improving support for small and medium-sized enterprises, startups and entrepreneurs.
The conference was opened by Šime Erlić, Mayor of Zadar, Đorđije Brkuljan, Executive Director of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre Tehnopolis, and Vedran Šimunović, Business Development Manager at INTERA Technology Park from Mostar.
The programme included keynote lectures, panel discussions, masterclasses, practical workshops and networking activities. The main topics covered the future of remote work and digital nomadism, destination branding, the use of artificial intelligence in business, building sustainable coworking communities, and the potential of new working and living models, including coliving, for rural and less populated areas.
Special attention was given to the experiences of the Code Hubs, which originated as initiatives supported through European projects and have developed into spaces that connect people, encourage knowledge-sharing and foster cooperation.
Over the years, CBCC has grown into a platform for networking and exchanging good practices among coworking spaces and organisations across the region. The conference contributes to promoting the cross-border area as an attractive destination for remote work, while encouraging new partnerships and supporting the development of local business communities.
CBCC26 was organised by the City of Zadar in cooperation with INTERA Technology Park, the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre Tehnopolis, BIT Center Tuzla and the University of Zadar, within our CODES project.
