As part of the CrossWaste project, educational workshops were successfully held in Borovo for preschool children from the Zlatokosa Kindergarten and for children in the lower grades of the Borovo Elementary School. Another two educational workshops were held in Brod Municipality bringing together 38 children from primary school Sveti Sava Brod and 21 children from kindergarten Beli Andjeo.
Sustainable waste management, waste separation, waste prevention and reuse were the focus of the workshops where children learned about nature conservation in an interactive manner to make a significant contribution to the protection of our planet.
The main goal of the workshops was to raise ecological awareness in children from an early age and develop a positive attitude towards nature, the environment and waste in the youngest.
The implementation of project activities has made an important step in creating a positive public attitude about the importance of construction waste management and recognizing the role of individuals and all social groups, as well as raising their awareness and sensitization to waste and environmental problems. Involving the children in educational activities influences children’s attitudes towards the waste management system and raises awareness of the impact of their own contribution.
Through these workshops, children developed awareness and were encouraged for responsible nature conservation in a fun and educational way.
