As part of the MARROBO project, co-financed under the Interreg VI-A IPA Cooperation Programme Croatia – Bosnia and Herzegovina – Montenegro, the Municipality of Neum and the University of Dubrovnik have completed a key phase of activities aimed at strengthening innovative marine robotics capacities in the Adriatic region.

Building on the earlier procurement of an underwater robot by the University of Montenegro, the Municipality of Neum has now acquired the advanced underwater robot FIFISH W6 NAVI, while the University of Dubrovnik has secured a Remote Underwater Digital Acoustic Recorder (nRUDAR-mk2™), further expanding the project’s technical and research capabilities.

The newly procured equipment significantly enhances the partners’ ability to conduct underwater research and monitoring. The nRUDAR-mk2™ is a hand-held, ultra-compact, short-term autonomous underwater recording device designed for a broad range of applications. It allows flexible deployment and reliable data collection in both peak and off-season maritime conditions.

The system supports comprehensive underwater noise assessment, covering all phases of research — from preparatory activities and field deployment to long-term monitoring and data evaluation. Through these investments, the MARROBO project continues to strengthen cross-border cooperation and technological innovation in marine research and environmental protection.
